Isaiah 53:5
New King James Version (NKJV)
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
The Lord Jesus Christ was wounded for our sins from day one on this earth but on the third day, He showed us clearly why He was wounded for us.The third day here refers to His resurrection power. Through His resurrection power, we learn that there is no more death for those who believe and obey Him. That He fills us with His eternal life through Christformation.
The world did not know who Jesus Christ was. If it did, it would not have done what it did to Him. They could only see Him as just another ordinary human being but not as the Promised One. To be able to see and receive Him as the Promised One, God the Father has to open one's eyes. He was wounded by evil men and women in this world from the start because they were blind to the things of God. They could not see what God was doing before their very eyes. If they could see Him as He was revealed, then they would have believed and received Him as many others did.
God the Father's intention of sending The Lord Jesus Christ into this world is for His best purpose and will but evil men turned it into something bad through their false accusations of Christ. They twisted and turned a good purpose into a bad one to suit their own evil desires. Not for long though. They were all made to look like fools when the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. They still appear to be like fools after two thousand years or so now.
