1 Corinthians 15:33-34
Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame
"Bad company corrupts good character" -this was true in every sense of the word for us in our Christformation journey. We are going to share with you our true life experiences of how this was so. We did not know how to be a racist until we joined this "bad company". We did not know what was cheating until we saw this happening while in this "bad company". We did not know what was arrogance until we were found in this "bad company". Bad company really corrupts good character. Talk about questionable character, you will find all of these in this "bad company". Their arrogant looks, speeches, talk and behavior corrupts you to the core if you remain in that company for long. Our advice to you, never be found in this "bad company". You may ask, how did you end up in that "bad company" in the first place?
Do you know only bad companies have attractive promotional gimmicks. That's how we ended up there. We didn't like it from day one, even though we were just in our teens and innocent. We knew something was amiss and terribly wrong there. But, when you are just a teenager, you don't seem to care about these things, even if someone is cheating in God's name. They will tell you it's alright, don't complain just 'close one eye'. We had our own life to lead so we kept aloof always. But, after a while you start questioning yourself, "why are you in bad company"? Where there is unthinkable discrimination. Where they make you feel that you owe them a living. We were just suppose to 'close an eye' when there are injustices of all sorts around you.
You become greedy like them unconsciously. Think greedy, act greedy, dream greedy! That's what "bad company" will do to you. Their arrogant speech! They won't be able to communicate well in English, but you can't stand their arrogant speech. You will feel like you want to puke many times. Perverted thoughts and life-style, no need to say. Their dressings and their conduct irritates you. But, all these cheating and lying was done in God's name! They are suppose to be smarter, they always projected themselves that way. We are suppose to be stupid and just be quiet and shut-up. The irony, some fools from other communities will join this bad company to curry favor and support their evil works. They want a share of their loots too. How cheap! Bad company corrupts good character. Never be found among them. You will be inviting a curse from God upon your own life because you have joined with the permanently unclean.
Mark 7:20-23
He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "
