2 Peter 1:3-4
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Are we to make ourselves filthy again by returning to the world to be corrupted by their evil desires? Rather, we should make every effort to escape this evil corruption that proceeds out from the sinful nature of the Devil in them. Remember, demons are very greedy beings. Demons start destroying themselves through greed. One greedy demon can't bear to see another greedy demon have them all to themselves, so they would seek to destroy one another. The sinful nature of the Devil is meant to be self-destructive by nature. Just look at Cain the child of Adam and Eve who had desired the sinful nature of the Devil in them. What they brought forth from that sinful nature? Murder! Cain murdered Abel out of jealousy. The first murder recorded in the Bible. They are meant to be self-destructive and how can you take part in it? What are these evil desires about? It's about control- i.e. control over the lives of others.
The Devil is very obsessive about controlling others around him and so are his evil demons. What are they fighting about? They are fighting over their God called 'Money'. They seek to control others through 'Money' their God. Their God called 'Money' makes them feel good about themselves or else they would feel miserable. Remember, they are controlled by the sinful nature of the Devil in them. They would feel miserable if the thoughts of their God called 'Money' does not fill them. They must fill themselves with the thoughts of God their 'Money', all the 24 hours in a day. They would want to die, if they don't do that. They have nothing else to live for. That's why, like Cain, they are even willing to kill their fellow men. 'Money' their God makes them feel good about themselves. Why, because looking at themselves in the mirror, makes them sick everyday. What else have they got to live for?
No one would want to take a second look at their evil faces. So, what else can they do with their lives? Only their God called 'Money' gives them satisfaction.
For us who believe, love and obey Christ it's different altogether. We live by the divine power of God the Holy Spirit, who fills us with the hope of eternal things to come, not temporal things of earthly value. Everything eternal is in Christ our Lord. Full Christformation in our born again spirits promises us everything eternal in Christ. He is our eternal life. In that eternal life is life in it's fullness. There is no lack in that eternal life that we should seek anything else from the world. We become co-heirs with Christ our Lord through full Christformation in us.. God the Holy Spirit fills these eternal riches of Christ within us, in our born again spirits, soul (mind) and the imperishable body that we will be clothed with at the end of everything.
Ephesians 3:14-19
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
