Self-Destructive Plotting and Planning
Psalm 7:15-17
New International Version (NIV)
Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads. I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High
God watches the motives of the heart. Man cannot do this because every man on earth has been embedded with the sinful nature of the Devil, so how can they discern evil motives and intentions of the heart? If you do not put its misdeeds to death by the power of God the Holy Spirit in you, you will not be freed from evil motives. All evil motives and intentions of the heart spring out from the sinful nature of the Devil in you, when you haven't learned to put its misdeeds to death in you. How do you learn that? The first thing you will learn is that the bottomless pit is open wide for you, when you operate through the sinful nature of the Devil in you.
Know this, that whoever you think you are, and how powerful you have become in men's eyes, if you are brave enough to dig a hole for others to fall in, you must be brave enough to fall into it yourself, because your day will surely come and it will be more frightening for you when when God himself strikes you. In my life, I have seen the wicked who disguise to be righteous being struck mercilessly by God because you have thought that you could fool God like you fool men.Not always though!
