2 Corinthians 12:6
Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say.
When we resort to making lots of unnecessary noise in public, we are seeking attention. We want others to recognize us as someone great by the things we do or say. This is self-projecting. We want to be heard. This too comes from the sinful nature of the Devil in us. The sinful nature of the Devil in you is telling you that you are not being heard, so 'shout' louder. Let everyone know who you are. They must fear you, so show it with power. Some do this by way of boasting. Others by force. They want to be heard and seen as somebody, when they are actually a nobody. When you say 'nobody', we mean to say, nobody cares who you are.You can make all the noise you want, but nobody cares about the unnecessary noise you make. You may entertain yourself with all the noise you make, but no one else is entertained by it. "But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say. This is perfect advice from the humble servant of the LORD. There is nothing there to make so much noise about, for no one is listening to you either. If you want others to think more of you than is warranted by what you do or say, then you are acting from the sinful nature of the Devil in you. You will be of no use to anyone because nothing good can come from the sinful nature of the Devil in you, only strife, pride and more strife. You will be the cause for all these destructive strife.
Galatians 6;3-5
If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load.
