Romans 1:28-32
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
If you take the things of God very lightly while professing to know God and His ways, you are one of those with a depraved mind. A depraved mind is one that keeps on doing the things that ought not to be done repeatedly, like being in a hopeless bondage as though in slavery. You keep doing the things that you very well know are wicked but you cannot be freed from it. There is no stop or limit to your sinning. It keeps accumulating into a heap of sins. You know that the "wages of sin is death", just like when you keep playing with fire you know that you would be burned by it one day. But, you keep on at it. You justify your actions while doing this. Then one day, that inevitable day comes! You are caught with no point of return because you have earned the irrevocable curses already. These curses come with sworn judgments from God. He did warn you before the day approaches for you, but you took no heed of it. You were stubborn so your heart became hardened in sins. You kept practicing evil even when you were told strictly against it. You thought that you knew what was right for you, but it was all wrong. Now, you have no way of returning to the LORD. You are trapped in your own sinful ways. It is hurting you badly, yet you still carry on in them. Not only do you practice these evil with stubbornness, you also drag others along with you to commit the same sins. What do you think you deserve from God?
James 1:13-16
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
