Revelation 13:17
"so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name"
Brand name? Trade Mark? He has declared himself to be the controller of the world market. Does it ring a bell here? He controls who buys and sells what. He sets himself up to be more powerful than God. Can you see the traits of the beast? No one else makes the decision. He is the only one who makes the decision and everyone else must agree to his wishes. In short, He plays God.
If you don't follow his wishes, he will penalise you. He does not care about anything else. What God says or decrees does not matter to him. What will affect his buying and selling matters more to him than what God says. He makes himself as God for others. His mind is on the things of this world which is money and fame. He shows off that he is a very capable and established man and no one can shake him from that position. He makes himself indispensable taking the place of God the Holy Spirit on Earth. He does not care about what God has decreed and willed for all men.
For him, it is not God's will be done on earth, but the beast's will be done instead. He is worried about the name of the beast not the name of the LORD. He seeks glory for his own name. He thinks that he is already established on earth and no one can remove him now. Thats the number of his name (like a bar-code), no one can erase it, it's fixed on the product. Does it ring a bell in your head here again?
He has made a name for himself that no one can challenge him anymore. But, he has just declared war with God, he does not know that. He directly challenged God and His will on earth. What never had befallen him, will suddenly come on him. He will be caught by surpirise. In one ,single hour, all his boasting will come to a drastic end. His time will be up for him from God when that happens. He will not be able to escape it this time. He had on many occassions slipped past but not this time. Judging by his self-willed actions, he is guilty of an eternal sin because he gives no thought about what God wills, even though he knows it. He pretends not to know.
