Ezekiel 7:1-9
The word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. The end is now upon you and I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will surely repay you for your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD. "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Disaster! An unheard-of disaster is coming. The end has come! The end has come! It has roused itself against you. It has come! Doom has come upon you--you who dwell in the land. The time has come, the day is near; there is panic, not joy, upon the mountains. I am about to pour out my wrath on you and spend my anger against you; I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will repay you in accordance with your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that it is I the LORD who strikes the blow.
If you are not broken before the LORD, you will be crushed. If you exalt yourself before men, you will be humbled. If you are stubborn and rebellious, you will still be told, but if, you do not take heed, then be ready for what's coming soon. If you think you are smart, you will be made a fool in the end. You think you know everything, you will be proven you knew nothing. All you made was noise. Plain noise. No one is interested in the noise you make. If you are not a parrot, you will be a puppet in the hands of others who seek to take advantage of your weak position. Think, who is in a weaker position? Who is being taken advantage of? Who is being made used of the sinful nature of the Devil. You or me? Greed, covetousnous, selfishness, factions, pride, arrogance, cheating, deception and insolence, what is it going to do to you? Aren't all these sins the same as committing idolatry, witchraft and sorcery. Aren't you promoting false-religion by practising these sins? Don't you deserve all the doom that is coming your way, as warned in the passage above?
Colossians 3:5-6
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
