"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers.
The trees here in the passage above are referring to The Lord Jesus Christ and the Devil in particular. These are two different 'trees' that have two different natures bearing two different kinds of fruit. One tree bears good fruit and the other bad fruit. Each tree is recognized by it's fruit it bears. Take note: You do not recognize a tree by it's size. They are many huge trees that only bears bad fruit. We have seen too many of them around. We feel that the ax is already at the bottom-stem of that tree to cut it down. The tree itself may still boast of it's size it has grown into, but the ax was already there, waiting to cut down that 'eye-sore and the continuous hear irritation' we get out of this. The fruit doesn't match with the tree and that is why it becomes an eye-sore and a pain in the neck and ear-drums. The mouth declares one thing and the actions another. Cheating, lying, stealing, racism, discrimination, greed, covetousness, pride, arrogance, boasting, theft, unfairness, heartlessness, stubbornness, rebellion, threats, violence, sexual-immorality, lust, crooked-business dealings, gambling, strife, jealousy, envy and all the evil that proceeds from the sinful nature of the Devil will be found thriving among them but, they would shamelessly claim that they are from a 'good' tree though. Whom are they trying to fool? They cannot fool God! "People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers".
Luke 3:9
The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."
