1 Corinthians 3:18-20
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."
Thoughts that proceed out of the mind that is not transformed into the mind of Christ yet, are futile. You may consider yourself to be wise by the standards of this age but God doesn't think so. He doesn't think that you are wise. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight". You keep doing the foolish things in His sight. He knows where you are headed to, but you don't know it. If you knew where you are headed to, you wouldn't want to take that destructive path. It may seem like you are doing the right things in your own eyes, but God doesn't think so! "He catches the wise in their craftiness" You may think that you are smart in this world but God doesn't think so! The LORD knows all your evil thoughts and how futile it is going to turn out to be in the end. You may think that you have succeeded in fooling everyone around you, but the one you have fooled is actually yourself alone. You will find this out in the coming days. We are going to see more of your foolishness and subsequently more of the consequences that would follow your own foolish actions. We just do not know how you could boast continually in all your foolish ways. It is coming to an end now!
Isaiah 32:5-7
No longer will the fool be called noble nor the scoundrel be highly respected.
6 For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil:They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord;the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water.
7 Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.
