Acts 10:37
You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached-- how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. "We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen--by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
The Lord Jesus Christ was mercilessly killed by real wicked men and women of the Earth. These 'jokers' wore robes making a fool of themselves before everyone.Would any sensible person ever go to them again for any form of help? The people were the witnesses of the very darkened hearts and motives of wicked men and women. They bravely displayed their evil thoughts and acts before a very innocent man. He was the Son of Man who was also the Son of God, yet it was a cowardly act to attack Him when he quietly surrendered Himself, knowing it was God the Father's will for Him to sacrifice His life for all who would believe and obey Him till the end. They killed Him by hanging Him on the tree, which does not literally mean a tree with branches, but nailed to a pillar-like or block of wood cut out from a tree. He died on that cross that was made of wood at Calvary but He rose from the dead on the third day, as He prophesied earlier that He would. The disciples and others saw and talked to Him after His victorious resurrection. They even ate and drank with Him meaning, He was as a normal person would be because He still had His wounds from that brutal torture and crucifixion. He had a humbling end but He exited out of this Earth victoriously by giving the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 to all those who believed and obey Him till the end, to preach and testify that He is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets, including John the Baptist testified about the Lord Jesus Christ. In His name is our forgiveness of sins so we were told to offer this forgiveness to everyone who wants that forgiveness of their sins. Without receiving the forgiveness of sins, you cannot be born again for full Christformation to occur there. However, the promise of God is that until Christ our Lord returns to earth again, there will be many who will believe, receive forgiveness of their sins and have that new life in Christ. Ever since He exited victoriously from this Earth, there has been jubilant celebration in heaven everyday and every moment there. Until He returns to this Earth to say to the world "God's time is finally up for all mankind" as in Noah's time, the whole heaven is rejoicing every moment and day over every sinner who turns away from his or her sins and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior of their lives forever and ever. His return to Earth will be a triumphant return too because everyday and hour there is someone turning from their sins to Christ our Lord. This heavenly rejoicing will continue on Earth too, when He returns.
Luke 15:7
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15:10
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Luke 15:32
But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' "
