Overcome All The Power of the Enemy

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19

We who are born again in the spirit and have Christ's divine nature formed in us have been given the same authority that the Lord Jesus Christ have to trample on those who stick-up their "heads" like the cobra and their "tails" like the scorpion. We have the venomous 'head and tail' covered completely. We have been given complete authority of Christ our Lord to trample on their 'heads and tails' and crush them and level them to the ground as dust. The Lord Jesus Christ had said that the Devil and it's demons have no power over those who have Christ's divine nature formed in them.

We wonder sometimes, how can God create such ugly animals? But, God is trying to tell us that this is how ugly we will look when we live obeying the sinful nature of the Devil in us. This is how venomous we will become when we live according to the sinful nature of the Devil in us. With Christ's authority formed in us, we can just trample and crush them to dust again with ease. No ugliness of the sinful nature of the Devil in others can harm us or have power over us in any way when Christ's divine nature has been formed in us. But, how does Christ's divine nature get formed in our born-again spirit? Again, we must learn to obey everything Christ had commanded us. There are no other short-cuts to that.

'Heads and tails' are evil authorities that stick-up their heads and tails to strike with the intention to harm, in this passage. The Lord Jesus Christ is showing us here how venom is spit out from the sinful nature of the Devil in us, if we haven't put to death all it's misdeeds. What is the venom of the Devil made up of in us that makes us ugly and harmful to others in and around us when we obey the sinful nature of the Devil from within the old self. I mean, from the spirit that is not born again yet.

The Lord Jesus Christ described it this way:

Mark 7:20-23
He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,  greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.  All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "

Apostle Paul described it this way to the believers in Galatia:

Galatians 5:19-21
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions  and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Apostle Paul to the believers in Rome, he said it this way:

Romans 1:18-32
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,  since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools  and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

If after all these rebuke, if you are still stubborn in your sins or simply rebellious towards the LORD,
apostle Paul had this to forewarn you strictly:

2 Timothy 3:1-9
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth--men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. The pictures of the cobra and the scorpion are misrepresenting. Actually, one is already very ugly and venomous. Just imagine, if  they appear as a nest of snakes and a cyclone of scorpions. How evil and venomous will they be? But still, we have the authority given by Christ to crush them to dust again.
