James 3:8
but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
But, let us warn you through the many experiences we have seen with our own eyes, He can shut your mouth forever and ever. We have seen this happen to many people, too many times in our ministry. Never ever speak arrogantly. You may escape from man but you will not with God. He will be waiting at the end He is a just God. He has warned about the uncontrolled use of the tongue and it's consequences. Do you have a restless tongue? A tongue that wags without self control. You are supposed to control it using the divine nature of Christ with self control which is the fruit of the Spirit of God and His Christ formed in you. It's not easy to have this divine nature of Christ formed in you unless you obey everything Christ has commanded you concerning the control of the tongue. That's what the verse above says. The reason the LORD warns us about the uncontrolled use of the tongue is to avoid spilling deadly poison that proceeds out from the sinful nature of the Devil in you. Your tongue can be the poison canal spewing it's deadly contamination from the sinful nature of the Devil in you. You must only speak what is necessary. You might not show you are a restless sinner but your tongue might give you away. You have a restless tongue that wags any way it likes.
Psalms 94:8-11
Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge? The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.
