Matthew 15: 8-9
" 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"
"Vain worshipers" in the eyes of God the Father and His Christ existed in the Old Testament times and they still continue on to this day, "stronger and unified" for all the wrong reasons, just as during the times of our Lord Jesus Christ on Earth. They were trying so hard to defend their physical tradition of "washing of their hands" here, just like they did to many other lousy traditions of men. A very shallow and petty issue with very hollow arguments to follow. Their words might seem like they have the answer from God to defend their shallow traditions but the Lord Jesus Christ knew their intentions better. They were only trying to survive with their shallow traditions with high sounding but useless words. Rules, only rules taught by mere men struggling with the sinful nature of the Devil that has become the master of their lives. Ordinary men but they wanted to challenge the Son of God who is also the Son of Man. Men of similar arrogance today still want to challenge Him to a spiritual fight! The Lord Jesus Christ did not shy away from them, so we will not! Their lips are the problem. With their mouths they talk too much. They have no depth in themselves. Watch their lifestyles closely while they talk too much. They are trying to defend and justify their worldly lifestyles only, nothing else. They depend on shallow experiences, with very shallow minds they have got in themselves. The sinful mind is a very shallow well and so is the spirit that is not born again. The old self is a very shallow drain. It only supplies dirt everywhere. It might seem like they are 'helping' everyone with their drainage minds but only God and His Christ know that their hearts are far, far way from God. If you were to watch what they are saying closely, you will realize that the way they address the Lord Jesus Christ is derogatory. They are very rude with their language and words. Their downfall will be like the Pharisees'. They won't know who they are talking to or talking about. Typically, the 'blind trying to lead other blind ones' into their own sinful 'drain' forever. They need a company of sinners with them to be able to continue in their sins and justify their evil actions. Cursed evildoers!
Hebrews 6:8
But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.
