Matthew 19:28-30
Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
The first Adam will be replaced by the last Adam because of the sinful nature of the Devil that brings eternal death. The new self will replace the old self because of the divine nature of Christ which is eternal. This is how the renewal of things will come about in the end. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Last Adam and the Firstborn of the new self. They who believe and obey Him will see Him enthroned as King of kings and Lord of lords, not only in the throne of their hearts but the whole universe too. They will reign with him eternally. The Devil and all his evil subjects and slaves will be thrown into the lake of fire. Those who boast that they are the first will become last and those last will become first with God. So, stop your evil boasting because your end might be in the lake of fire. Those who live by their faith in God and not in man or the things of this world will be rewarded by the LORD hundred times more representing perfect reward from the LORD. "You who have followed me" till the end will also sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. It's not that easy to follow Him till the end. Look at Peter, how much he struggled within him. Look at the other disciples who left him alone to face the wicked, in the evil arena of the chief priests and the evil rulers. The disciples had to be re-assured by His victorious resurrection in order for them to continue following Him till the end. There was a falling out temporarily. God the Holy Spirit had to come and fill them in order for them to continue in Christ. It's not that easy to follow Him till the end. You cannot do it in your own strength. You cannot follow Him by obeying the sinful nature of the Devil in you. Judas Iscariot the greedy betrayer was the worst, he hanged himself till death. He selfishly obeyed the sinful nature of the Devil in him to his own eternal destruction. What about you and us? Will we follow Him till the end. The same evil men and women are around us today! They are as evil as the chief priests and evil rulers during the times of Jesus Christ our Lord. They are still here today. These evil men and women might be in your own home. What do you do? Give up and join them to be a part of this world or continue till the end to follow Christ our Shepherd? You choose, but remember, the eternal consequences for your own actions. Do you still want to be the first in this world and be the last with God and His Christ or what?
Hebrews 3:15-19
As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion." Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
