Hebrews 3:7-13
So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.' So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.' " See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
For forty years they saw what God could do and yet they did not take Him seriously. They still went on their stubborn ways to rebel against God. God was angry with that generation. In which way had their hearts gone astray from God, even though they were still in God's camp. Their hearts were faraway from God. It was after the things of the world. What the world seeks, they too wanted to seek it. You can remain in God's camp and yet have a sinful and unbelieving heart that turns away from God. You can be seeking to please yourself, while pretending to please God. It's happening today! "They shall never enter my rest" what does that mean? Is there another "rest" you are headed to after following God the Holy Spirit? Yes, this rest is, Christformation in you. Do not take this lightly, let us warn you here. Don't be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. While there is this warning to you, change for the better when you have a chance..
