Matthew 9:16-17
"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."
It is Christformation in the born again spirit that will bring about transformation of the sinful mind into the mind of Christ and eventually, the Christconformed body at God's right hand. Reformation cannot produce all these. What's the use of reformation, if it cannot bring about the formation of the divine nature of Christ in us? It is only making the tear worse and everyone is still heading towards eternal ruins. So , forget about your patch-work that won't last. Turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for full Christformation in you. There is no other way. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. You must obey everything He has commanded.and not choose and pick what you want to obey and disobey.There is no other way. You have to fully submit yourself to Christ for full Christformation in you. The more you reject this, the worse it is going to be with the tear and the ruins. It's looking more like a pathetic patch-work, fit to be thrown into the lake of fire. This is what happens in the end, if you seek to take short-cuts simply because you are disobedient to all that the Lord Jesus Christ had commanded. Can you see the new wine and the new wineskin which is the born again spirit in you in this powerful verse below? I hope you do. The born again spirit acts as the womb where the divine nature of Christ is formed in you fully. Yes, fully, that's what the apostle Paul is reminding us here. He desires with the pain of sowing to see full Christformation in us. That's not for his own benefit but yours eternally!
